‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 3 review: Donnie Gill’s ‘Frozen’ connection
Given the way that ABC is pimping out “Frozen” on “Once Upon a Time” right now, maybe they should go ahead and put Donnie Gill on there right now. After all, he and Elsa may have a thing or two in common.
With all of this being said, you also have to consider that maybe this character is no longer with us. Being put on ice seems to be a great way to go out, but it also appears to be far too neat and tidy and end for now.
If nothing else, the rest of the episode was very engaging, and it keeps up the tradition of this being a show that really should have been this great back when it first started. We almost believed that Simmons was a part of HYDRA … at least for a few moments. Some of the scenes with her were at least excellent.
So when it comes to moving forward, we like how the show really seemed to accentuate these temporary transformations, and some of the emotional pain that comes with them. It’s only natural for the SHIELD team to have a little bit of apprehension all about what happens to her, mostly because of the bonds that they have formed.
In the end, let’s just hope that SHIELD has a few more surprises in store moving forward. Now that the cat is out of the bag, we’ll have to wait and see what the next shoe to drop on the show will be. Grade: B+.
