‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 2 preview: Garcia and the inexplicable

While there are some members of the BAU on “Criminal Minds” who are pretty darn ruthless, it is definitely not fair to classify the Garcia as one of them. She is tough, but in an extremely different way.

As a matter of fact, we feel like it was incredibly brave for Garcia to say in the sneak peek below that she wants to see the man in prison responsible for nearly taking her life at the end of last season. Why would she want to do this? The answer is simple: She never wanted to see him on Death Row. She is fundamentally against the concept, and no matter who she writes to or campaigns to on the subject, she cannot get any traction. Even Derek at the BAU refuses to support her, as evidenced in the sneak peek below.

Will Garcia be able to get the solace that she needs from these? Unfortunately, we have a hard time thinking that there will be any solace at all that comes from this. What we’ve learned instead on this show time and time again is that nothing really takes away the pain of death, even if it is a man who many would say deserves to die.

This scene will very well incite further conversations about the death penalty, regardless of if the man at the center of the case seems to want it. He not only plead guilty, but also professed guilty to a series of other murders that investigators were not even aware of.
