‘The Originals’ season 2 premiere reaction: About that Kol – Daniel Sharman shocker
Apparently, “The Originals” is not afraid of any sort of controversy, even when it comes to a popular character like Kol Mikaelson. On the season 2 premiere Monday night, the show revealed that thanks to the Other Side collapsing in part on “The Vampire Diaries,” we are getting to see more of the Original family. Finn and Kol are back!
However, the way that this happens is probably the biggest shock to many out there, since it means basically that these characters, like Esther, are not in their same body. Now, “Teen Wolf” alum Daniel Sharman is playing Kol, and that’s going to be an adjustment.
So who does executive producer Michael Narducci describe the new version of the character? Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he had the following to say:
“[Kol is] the Loki of our story — “mischievous, never knowing where you stand with this guy, what is he up to … absolutely believe that Esther brings him back to be on her side and to be a force that she can use to do what ultimately she wants to do: eliminate vampires. But where does he fall in terms of his loyalties and alliances?”
For those of you who do love the original version of Kol, don’t worry: Nathaniel Buzolic is going to be back in flashbacks next week. Given the popularity of this actor in the role, we’re also not ruling out that he could return at some point in the present, as well. It’s hard to imagine the show without the guy at this point.

It was kind of obvious the actor himself would not be in present time as Kol. I mean, they had to finish season 4 of TVD somehow and so they killed Kol and his body burned.
If they returned Kol in his original body then they had to explain how that happened.
At least he is in the flashback(s).
On the other hand, if they want more interesting stories then they will get the actor back to play Kol ( somehow ).
Daniel is fine. I like his acting so far on TO. Have to get used to it from his acting on TW though. Got too used to Isaac on that show.

Daniel needs to return to Teen Wolf, Season 4 sucked without Isaac

Daniel Sharman is a good actor and I liked him in Teen Wolf and I am sure it will be interesting how he will play the Kol Character. But for the long run I could not accept him as that character, If Julie Plec is going to bring back Nathan for just the flashbacks then that’s just teasing the fans because then it keeps the original actor in the role alive and only in flashbacks and then a New actor in the present, it just won’t work at some point Plec is going to have to bring Nathan back in the present and do something else with Daniel.

It’s insane. But not really in a bad way. I was so happy. I missed Daniel Sharman in Teen Wolf. So I’m very to watch him acting in The Originals. I still can’t believe he is Kol. Handsome stud Kaleb with a background. And now he is one of the Originals. So many nice things at the beginning of season 2. Rebekah at the beginning. I can’t stop being very pleased with the story. Daniel Sharman, *sigh*

Julie Plec is a brilliant and creative writer. When the time is right, Nathan will return as Kol. Waiting for this will keep fans on the edge of their seats. I can’t wait.
