‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 5 preview: ‘The Focus Attentuation’

Big Bang -Tonight, “The Big Bang Theory” was all about the guys’ attempts to move forward professionally by … investing in a comic-book store. Yes, that in itself seems fairly strange.

“The Focus Attentuation” is the title for next week, and the next move by the guys is going to be seemingly trying to come up with a new invention. Based on some of the CTV promos that we’ve seen, it’s something that the guys put through the testing process … and it does not go very well, to boot.

In case you’ve missed it previously, you can look below to get some official details via the CBS synopsis:

“Amy and Bernadette accuse Penny of being a “buzzkill” after she gets an email from work during their Vegas weekend. Meanwhile, the guys try to invent something cool, but only come up with new ways to procrastinate.”

The Penny storyline is mostly appealing because it is so unusual to see Kaley Cuoco’s character as the responsible party, and have both Penny and Bernadette be so upset. We are also curious about how the show will try to make Las Vegas interesting given their limited resources; despite being one of the most-popular shows on TV, the multi-camera format makes it pretty difficult to replicate anything other than some of the typical locations that we see time and time again.

Let’s hope that there is some comedy in here, and at also something we will remember weeks from now.
