‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: Tease of Hoda Kotb cameo, more

Law & Order: SVU logoWednesday night’s new episode of “Law & Order: SVU” is yet again going to be a collision course of pop culture, and that includes someone who should be familiar to NBC audiences already in Hoda Kotb.

In the Twitter post HERE via executive producer Warren Leight, you can see a quick look at some of the dialogue the “Today Show” Fourth Hour host has during a part of the episode, which revolves around a young actress named Tensley who gets herself mixed up into serious stuff. Not only that, but her history of being sexually abused makes her have a complicated history and understanding of what she needs to do in order to function and find success.

This episode feels like it is combining the story of a troubled young actress (which we’ve seen thousands of times), and then also the headlines that we earlier this year when a series of Hollywood producers were accused of sexually abusing minors at a serious of pool parties. Many of those accusations were later dropped, but they did make national headlines. (Watch a sneak peek here detailing more of it.)

The only other thing that we can add to this story right now is that we do have high expectations for this episode, largely because it is following up one in “American Disgrace” that we feel was particularly strong, and brought the show back to some of its roots: A twisted story that makes you think about the nature of law and order in the country, and also how complicated some of these cases can be.
