‘The Originals’ season 2 premiere spoilers: Daniel Gillies on Elijah, Hayley, Klaus, and more

Elijah -In just a matter of 24 hours or so from the time in which we’re writing this, “The Originals” is going to return to The CW. Excited? We really hope so!

For Daniel Gillies, he recognizes that the story ahead for his character is not going to be an easy one at all. He is aware of the fact that his actions, coupled with what Klaus and Hayley decided to do with baby Hope at the end of season 1, have put them all in a place where they are forced to live out a lie about what happened with the child. That brings tension between Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin’s characters, and then also between himself and the newly-transformed hybrid.

In a new video coming to us courtesy of The CW, Gillies teases the story that comes ahead for his character and for Hayley with the following message:

“We’re forced into this kind of ruse, essentially, which is almost as pain as losing a child itself … You can only imagine what is going to be like for Hayley … In a way fabricating this loss is a strange, very public device that they’ve all agreed upon. [It seems that] romance between Elijah and Hayley is [pretty] unfavorable during that period of time.”

We do still feel like there is going to be a little bit of hope for Elijah and Hayley at some point during the run of the series, but the thing that we have to realize here is that patience will very much be a virtue. It may take a little time for the picture to become clearer, and we have to prepare ourselves for that.
