MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Owen makes a move on Jenna
We’ll start this “Awkward” preview by giving the Owen character at least a little bit of credit. The guy may only be a sophomore, but he actually has the audacity to ask someone like Jenna out despite her being a senior.
To be fair, he also received plenty of the right signs. During New Year’s Eve, she was very attentive to him, and even kissed the piano man at the stroke of midnight. What else was he supposed to think? Unfortunately, there are a pair of other key pieces of information that Owen does not know about.
- Jenna kissed him because she thought that Matty was off kissing someone else, and instead he was with his mom, and actually wanted to be with her to start the year off right.
- Also, Jenna most-likely thought that Owen was a little older, and that he was not a student at Palos Hills. This gave her a little bit of license to kiss someone she thought she would never have to see again.
Judging from the speech that she gives Owen in response to him asking her out in the sneak-peek video below, there may be another problem weighing heavily on her: Maybe her attempt to get into her dream school did not exactly work out quite like she was hoping for it to.
Maybe by the end of this episode Jenna will have come around, or maybe at least Owen will find someone else who seems to be a little more interested in being with him. Nice guys don’t always finish last, but he does seem like someone who deserves to.
