‘The Last Ship’ season 2 spoilers: When does filming begin?

The Last Ship -It’s been a while since there have been any updates when it comes to TNT’s “The Last Ship,” but it may be pretty easy to understand why. The show has been off the air for many weeks now, and to go along with that, production has not started on the show yet. It’s hard to really deliver a whole lot more when it comes to news when there is nothing to report!

However, we do want to at least give a few little updates for those who have missed them over the past few weeks. Eric Dane posted on Twitter last month (see attached) that filming for the show will start up around the middle of October, which is hardly that far away now. There’s no specific date given, but that should not be a surprise. Often this date changes often, and there are some other shows that prefer to not give that date out in order to keep from there being a possible fan frenzy where people are trying to work.

As for when some new casting information could come out, it could be as early as the next few days, or as late as a few weeks. It just depends on what producers prefer to do here. Sometimes, it makes a little more sense to try to keep a role under wraps for as long as you possibly can. In other situations, meanwhile, you may want to get that news out there for the sake of further promoting the product.

Regardless, there’s a good bit to be excited about, even though the 13 episodes for season 2 will not air until next summer.
