‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 3 video: What is Simmons doing?

How fantastic is the “Agents of SHIELD” sneak peek below? When it comes to the quality and the style of it alone, this may be one of the best previews that the series has ever put out … and also one of the creepiest by a pretty wide margin.

The style of this is something that is certainly easy to describe. It is one of those “morning in the life of” videos that focuses on a specific person, and in this case, that person is Jemma Simmons. You see her make her coffee, run on the treadmill, and prepare for what is hopefully going to be a pretty exciting day for her. This entire time, there is nothing but pleasant, cheering music in the background almost like this is one of those cheery montages from an old 1950s sitcom.

However, at the very end we see the twist: She is actually at HYDRA, where she is working on who-know-what and making us question how well we ever knew the character in the first place.

Is this a part of some secret mission to help Fitz, or is there another motivation here that we do not currently know about? At the moment, this has to be the hope. We don’t want to envision the notion of Simmons being evil for evil’s sake, or betraying anyone else given that we already had plenty of that in season 1.

Hopefully, we’ll find out more when this episode airs on Tuesday night, but for now, additional props go to the producers for making this clip so awesome.
