‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: How ‘Graceland’ star could shake things up for Severide

Are Severide and Lindsay completely over on “Chicago Fire”? We didn’t think that it was entirely clear based on the evidence of this past episode, but the latest bit of news suggests that they may very well be.

As you may have heard already, “Graceland” star Serinda Swan is going to recur this season, and her role of Brittany will be someone Taylor Kinney’s character is very attracted to. However, there is a major difference between an attraction and a woman who is right for you, which is something that executive producer Matt Olmstead is careful to note in a chat with TVLine:

“It’s another extension of Severide [grabbing] the next distraction to keep him from dealing with the Shay of it all. The secret, which is ultimately revealed, is that [Britt] has also run away from a tragedy in her life.” Ultimately, the relationship will allow Severide “to deal with what happened to Shay and put two feet on the ground.”

For the time being, the way that we look at this relationship is as follows: Sometimes, you need to make mistakes in life to realize the best way to move forward. This has obviously been a terribly dark time in Severide’s life without someone who was one of his best friends, and he is going to make huge mistakes. The only thing that we can hope is that he can learn from them, and condense this mistake-making period into as short of a period of time as possible. maybe this relationship will be a way for this to happen.
