‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Will Jay James, Chloe Jasmine survive judges’ houses
Just because two nights over a weekend were seemingly not enough for “The X Factor” UK, the show has decided to turn the Judges’ Houses, like the Six-Chair Challenge, into a grueling three-night event.
Are we somewhat confused about this? Sure, mostly because you can cut out all the repetitive filler about how “this means everything” to all the singers, since we clearly realize that already. These are almost always the same soundbyes every season, and only a lucky few actually bring something new or interesting to the narrative. If we have to hear “this is my last chance” one more time this year, we may have to throw something.
Who do we think are the favorites going into it? Based on hype, we feel like Jay James (Overs) and the eight-person boy band are locks to go to the live shows, even if the latter still does not even have a name. Meanwhile, we feel like we’re probably going to see Chloe Jasmine (Girls) in there as well, just because of the sheer amount of screen time.
One of the biggest wild cards to us, at least at the moment, is Blonde Electric. By no means are they actually good, but Louis Walsh seems to be saddled with these “entertainers,” regardless of whether or not they are good. When the judges complain about them later if and when they make the live shows, remember that they were arguing for Louis to keep them at some point during the event this past weekend.
