‘Bones’ season 10, episode 2 preview: Booth feels the weight of Sweets’ absence

Bones -Bones” season 10 has not been an easy one for Seeley Booth so far. In the premiere, we saw him struggling mightily with being stuck in prison, and even when he was released, there was a certain part of him that felt like the government he once loved and believed in had betrayed him.

So to add to all of this the tragic death of his friend Sweets, and the responsibility that he feels over it? That will be a hard pill for him to swallow. In the sneak peek below, you can still see David Boreanaz’s character struggling with this startling omission from his life, and also wondering if he had served up the warrant if things had been any different. If you weren’t emotional enough by this happening in the first place, seeing a young Christine talk about going to the park with “Uncle Sweets and Aunt Daisy” will. There is nothing harder than having to teach a young child about the reality of death.

While this episode will be the one presumably where the crew at the Jeffersonian puts the character to rest, this will hardly be the last time that the show mentions the character. The fact that Daisy is pregnant with the couple’s child is a way for the memory of Sweets to be kept alive long after he is gone, and for however long that “Bones” ends up staying on the air. At the moment, there is not any inclination that season 10 is the last.
