‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, episode 5 preview: Charlie Hunnam, betrayal in ‘Some Strange Eruption’
To say that Tuesday night’s “Sons of Anarchy” episode was violent would be an understatement. Jax Teller has been a risk-taker and reckless throughout the first four episodes, and in turning the microscope on both Lin and August Marks, he possibly bit off more than he can chew. The incident with the “entertainers” and Collette feels almost proof of that.
The next episode is entitled “Some Strange Eruption,” and regardless of if you are talking about Charlie Hunnam’s character or anyone else, revenge will be the key mere more than ever. FX released a short synopsis (which you can see below), but there is really not too much you can gleam from it story-wise:
“Looking for the source of a betrayal leads to violence at the Stockton Ports.”
We expected tonight to be an episode where we lost a few major characters, and to our surprise, that did not necessarily happen. Colette was important, but more so to Jax than the entire show. We presume that Tig is still alive, mostly because this guy somehow survives everything. He is the cockroach of this show. Had it not been for Chibs, maybe Jarry would also be gone already.
What we are getting at here is that the incident tonight is only the tip of the iceberg if SAMCRO continues their ways. They are out-matched, and have a leader who is clearly not thinking clearly. Sooner or later, he will be the face staring at a barrel of a gun if the trend continues.
