‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ trailer: Sarah Paulson and Twisty the Clown

FX has released its newest trailer for “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” and we certainly feel like this accomplishes almost everything that the producers probably wanted. There are some images of the show’s characters, actual dialog for a change, and in addition to all that, our first real sighting of the villain this season: Twisty the Clown.

While we are not personally one of those people who suffers from a paralyzing fear of clowns, we imagine that this one (played by John Carroll Lynch) is going to be complete nightmare fuel for many. He looks pretty terrifying, and then you add to that almost everything else that he does.

The rest of the trailer seems to almost be told from the vantage point of Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson), who come to Jupiter, Florida, still with something akin to big dreams and a little bit of an edge. What they realize soon after that, though, is that this is hardly the place they imagined it to be. While many of the characters here do embrace their freak show community to the best of their ability, they also are not always surrounded by the easiest of circumstances. Many in Jupiter abuse them, and don’t really bother to give them any attention other than of the negative variety. Also, there is the certain issue known as a killer on the loose.

For all of you massive Pepper fans out there, we’re just that you will appreciate the tiniest of glimpses of this character in the trailer, as well.
