‘Homeland’ season 4 premiere video: A scene with Claire Danes, Rupert Friend
In less than a week now, “Homeland” season 4 will return, and you can prepare yourself to see a different side of the Carrie character. She’s been through a lot, and that will contribute to her armor. However, is she almost too guarded from pain for her own good?
Based on the new sneak peek below, it may be fair to ask that very question. What you have here is a sit-down conversation between Claire Danes’ character and Quinn (Rupert Friend), and it shows how far these two characters have come. Carrie is very detached, and does not seem to mind the ramifications of a mission, even if it is one that ends particularly badly.
Meanwhile, Quinn seems to be particularly affected by the death of the kid last season, and the decisions and moves that he made to get to that point. While he may have a lengthy history of dangerous missions, he’s okay with wearing his heart on his sleeve … at least to Carrie. He’s going to start to worry about her as she gets deep into her new mission in the Middle East, and this could further spark interest for those who ‘ship these two characters together.
We’ll have to reserve our full opinion on “Homeland” season 4 until the new season premieres, but for now, early buzz is that we’re looking at a show that will be better than the uneven, disappointing season 3 … and it may be a little bit more like “24” to boot. Who would’ve thought a year ago that this comparison would be a good thing?
