‘The Strain’ finale spoilers: First look, details on ‘The Master’

Can the Master be killed on “The Strain“? That is one of many things that we are hoping to see addressed during an episode that fittingly has the title of “The Master.” How do you know that this is a big deal? Both Carlton Cuse and Chuck Hogan are the creative voices behind this episode, which has its work cut out for it to try to match the crazy violence / gore we have seen every step of the way so far.

Rather than doing anything else here, let’s start things off by sharing the official scoop from FX on what you can expect from all of the cast.

“Eph and Fet recon for an all-out assault that Setrakian assures them will finally kill the Master. Gus aligns himself with a strange new force, one that may swing the fight in an unforeseen direction.”

What direction do we see things going in? Well, mostly one that opens up new villains, and new possibilities for the show’s second season. Everyone involved has had the luxury of knowing for a long time now that season 1 would not be the end of the road for the show, and that this has the potential to be on for a very long time. It has shown that FX can have a scripted hit on a Sunday night like many other cable networks, and there is still an appetite for something a little supernatural.

The timing here is also pretty great. It’s smart that “The Strain” is choosing to wrap things up a week before “The Walking Dead” premieres. You don’t want to compete with that.
