NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Anita Antoinette from season 3 returns

The Voice -Remember when Anita Antoinette was on “The Voice” many years ago? She was great then, and one of the most egregious snubs by the coaches.

This is why we’re so happy that she is finally back; not only that, but she got all four chairs to turn around! We feel like the coaches have been a little trigger-happy lately, but she deserves it. We’re a huge fan of reggae music, and she embodies the soul and the heart of it so well. We loved her take on “Turn Your Lights Down Low,” really so much that it was worth the long wait.

Now, the real question that we have right now is this: Who in the world will she choose? From our vantage point, it seems like a no-brainer: Gwen Stefani. She seems to be the most passionate over her, and she probably has a few shared influences in her music. Blake Shelton does make a good point about the similarities between country music and reggae (in the form of how they both tell stories), but that’s probably not enough of a pitch. We wouldn’t blame Anita for not wanting to pick either of the coaches who did not turn their chair around for her when she was back on the show.

To us, what is ultimately left is to hope that Anita makes it far in the competition beyond just the Battle Rounds. Since so much of her performance is about connection rather than just hitting booming notes, that could be where she has some trouble.

What do you think about this performance, and who should Anita choose? Share below, and head over here for some more news related to “The Voice”! That is where we’ll have our full review of this episode a little later.
