‘The X Factor’ UK: Raign, Lizzy Pattinson sing-off; more on Blonde Electric controversy

The judges -It wouldn’t be “The X Factor” without a generous dose of controversy, now would it? Well, there is plenty of that coming out now following the performances from this weekend’s Six Chair Challenge.

Well, the big news right now is that there was an extra sing-off that was shown on “The Xtra Factor,” but not on the flagship show, between Lizzy Pattinson and Raign. Lizzy eventually won her seat, thanks mostly to the support of the audience. Simon Cowell actually felt like Raign had the better recording voice, but this just goes to show that likability goes a long way towards being a success. We’re not that optimistic about Robert Pattinson’s sister advancing through judges’ houses; she’s received a pretty invisible edit so far, and if she barely made it this far, it would be shocking to see her completely turn it around moving forward.

Other controversy – The Daily Mail reports today that after Louis Walsh sent home controversial duo Blonde Electric from the groups, it was the producers who rushed in and seemingly forced him to acknowledge making a mistake. Every season likes to have one headline-grabbing “joke act,” and this seems to be it this season since they are not actually talented.

We ultimately just feel bad for Overload / every other group who goes on this show and is eliminated while a pair like them sticks around. Notice that Louis did not stick them in the sing-off at the end of the episode, mostly because he and everyone else in the world knew how that would end.
