While tonight marks the arrival of many “Frozen” characters to “Once Upon a Time,” there is admittedly a part of us that is even more intrigued for what is coming up in the second half of the season.
After all, this is when we are going to see the return of a character in Maleficent who we particularly love, and an actress in Kristin Bauer van Straten who has more time now to contribute to the role after seven years on “True Blood.” Does this return mean that we’ll see more of a certain Sleeping Beauty in the process? With the end of “Mixology” Sarah Bolger may have a greater availability, and this also seems to be something you will see more of. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Adam Horowitz had the following to say:
“We’re certainly going to be seeing a little bit of Aurora. The Maleficent appearance is not immediate, but when she comes we’re excited to delve into her story in a more significant way than we have in the past.”
What we inevitably wonder at this point with Aurora is what her return could mean in terms of Mulan. The last time we saw Jamie Chung’s character for any substantial period of time, she was confessing that she was in love with Aurora … even if she couldn’t bring herself to say it to her fact. She was immediately the show’s first LGBT character, but then due to Chung’s other commitments to “Believe” and the direction of story, she hasn’t had much to do then. (For now, Chung’s potential return remains a mystery.)
