Throughout the pilot episode for “Gotham,” we saw glimpses of the Selina Kyle character, even if she did not say a word throughout the whole process. She was a mysterious girl who saw the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, and spent most of the rest of the episode watching him at various places.
So where does this story go from here? Monday’s episode is entitled “Selina Kyle,” and clearly we are going to learn a whole lot more about the girl who someday will become Catwoman in the Batman mythology. In the sneak peek below, we learn that she is a troubled, alone kid who seems to be on her way to juvenile hall, a place she has some experience at. After all, she’s able to dish out some advice about it.
One other interesting thing about Selina is that she does at least seem to have some desire for justice. After all, she tries her best to demand to see James Gordon before she is transferred away. Unfortunately for her, this is a request that is not denied. May she assume that she can get something out of handing off this information? Possibly, but in this world sometimes, you have to accept something like that to get what you want. Gordon needs leads, and maybe Selina saw something that can be of use.
Hopefully, we’ll get a deeper look at this character that shows off more of these layers, and hopefully “Gotham” will also allow us this time to see more of what makes Gordon so special.
