‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 2 preview: Jamie takes a risk and more

CBS LogoTonight, “Blue Bloods” jumped back into cases, characters, and police politics with the season premiere, and it already looks like that is going to carry directly over into what we will see on the series next week.

The next episode of the Tom Selleck series is entitled “Forgive and Forget,” and one of the themes here will be seeing if Jamie can handle criticism from Eddie after she makes a big move and stands up for a fellow cop. At the same time, we will see Erin and Danny at odds, which suggests to us that there will be some conflict at the dinner table very soon.

Want to see some more news now, including scoop on a surprise guest star for the hour? Then check out the full synopsis below:

“When a fellow officer is ostracized for testifying against her partner, Jamie stands up and volunteers to ride with her for a week, facing the wrath of his own partner and fellow cops. Meanwhile, Erin and Danny clash when a settled case becomes a new homicide, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Oct. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Former NFL quarterback and analyst for THE NFL TODAY on CBS Boomer Esiason guest stars as himself when he pays a visit to Frank’s office.”

To be fair, we’re still somewhat nervous about the Boomer cameo, mostly because the entire stunt feels just like that … a way to further promote CBS’ football coverage, which really does not need any promoting based on the ratings.

Obviously, one other thing to expect here is mourning. Javi’s death is something that will not go away overnight.
