‘Outlander’ episode 8 (midseason finale) spoilers: Jamie, Claire, and hope

Can you believe that “Outlander” is almost over for 2014? It may be a crazy thought, but that does not make it any less true. During this final episode of the year (entitled “Both Sides Now”), you will continue to see Claire struggling with her identity. She is starting to feel something, after all, for Jamie, which hurts her since she also has Frank to think about.

While all of this is going on, we also have Jamie trying to think of his own future, which is the focus of the latest sneak peek below released by Starz. In it, he discusses how a certain witness may be exactly what he needs in order to finally clear his name, which is something that he has been hoping for quite a long time.

Do we expect this episode to necessarily resolve anything when it comes to the long game? Hardly, and mostly because of the fact that there are still eight more episodes coming in the spring, and do you really think that the producers would leave you on anything other than a cliffhanger for the time being? That is just referred to as bad business sense. They want to do everything in their power to ensure that you keep on watching for a very long time.

With this in mind, we expect this next chapter of Claire and Jamie’s story to draw some tremendous ratings for Starz, and set the stage for what will hopefully be a very exciting time.
