Remember when everyone actually thought clowns were fun ambassadors of fun and laughter? Those were the days. Maybe we blame Stephen King for this, but for some reason, this has become the trendy fear of the past ten years.
Ryan Murphy knows this, and it feels like it will become a focal point for his upcoming season of “American Horror Story.” The latest “Freak Show” teaser below focused on what FX refers to as a “tweaked clown.” It’s kind of creepy, but actually feels more like a clown looking into a funhouse mirror than anything else.
Let’s take a minute here to address what is one of the hottest rumors that is out there: This is not an accurate representation of what the show’s primary villain Twisty the Clown will look like. Maybe it’s a clue of the art style, but these teasers are never meant to be anything more than a little glimpse into what the show wants you to be excited for stylistically.
The new season will premiere on Wednesday, October 8, so if nothing else, you can feel happy knowing that you’re not going to be waiting too long regardless to figure out what happens from here on out. There are many interesting characters coming up, and from what we understand, there may be almost as much conflict within the freak show as there is outside of it.
Stay tuned; as FX releases more of these teasers (and we are definitely confident that they will), we will have more of them for you to check out here.
