‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Paul Reubens

The Blacklist logo any seasonWho knew that the man under this wig was Pee-Wee Herman? It may just as much an older version of Howard Wolowitz from “The Big Bang Theory.”

Either way, this is the first image that was shared by NBC (per TV Guide) of Paul Reubens on “The Blacklist,” where he will begin an arc starting with the episode airing on Monday, October 6 entitled “Dr. Linus Creel.” Not too much is known about this character, save for that his name is Mr. Vargas, and he specializes in being almost the criminal world version of Olivia Pope. Or, he is Ray Donovan without all of the muscles. He will do his best to “fix” problems, and that may cause friction with Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen.

There are a good many other characters that will surface, but so far this season, the major M.O. for producers has been to bring to bring on board people who are tied somehow to our principal villain in Berlin. Will this continue throughout the entire season? That depends on how long he lasts, but it is fair to assume that Vargas and our Big Bad may share a few names in their Rolodex.

If nothing else, then just think of Reubens as one of the latest crazy characters that the show has come up with over the years. If nothing else, creator Jon Bokenkamp has shown himself repeatedly to be someone skilled in finding unique people to throw into this world in interesting ways.
