‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Will Lucy Lawless return again?

My, how “Agents of SHIELD” can be a cruel tease sometimes. When we first heard the news that Lucy Lawless was going to be guest-starring on the show, we were tremendously excited! However, at the same time we also had some confidence that this was going to be an appearance that lasted more than just one episode. That ended up not being the case.

The show certainly allowed our jaw to hit the ground by killing Hartley off; not only that, but it does not appear as though there are any plans to introduce the character in the new future. According to TVLine, there are no plans to bring back Lawless in the near future, though that may change in the future if the show comes up with any big flashback possibilities.

At the moment, though, what we are mostly worried about when it comes to this show is it trying to keep the ratings up. We have a case here of a show getting very good perhaps a little too late. If the series had drawn better reviews in the fall, it would probably still be thought of as a smash hit; instead, we think of it as a little more middle-of-the-road when it comes to the numbers. It also cannot be cheap to produce, and that has to be considered when you think about whether or not it will be renewed.

Still, there will be a ton of time to talk about that in the future. For now, we just have to wonder whether or not there will be some other great guest stars in the future.
