‘Outlander’ spoilers: Episode 9 return date coming in April 2015

Are you addicted to Starz’s “Outlander”? well, you may be somewhat crushed to hear the latest bit of news today: You are going to be waiting for quite a long time to see new episodes air once again on the network.

Specifically, we are talking about until Saturday, April 4. That is the date that the network announced today, which is so far down the road that it is practically another season. We don’t even really understand the logic here for a number of reasons. For one, it seems more prudent to air the show in colder months, and you also have to hope that interest holds for that long.

The only reason that we can think of for the long wait is this: Starz did not want to double-up on some of their original programming, and therefore wanted to wait until “Black Sails” was off of the air. This is a smart logical move for them to make, even if we don’t like it because it makes us wait a long time.

“Outlander” has become already one of the biggest hits in Starz history, and its ratings have increased in recent weeks, even up to the point where it just set some new records for itself. There is absolutely nothing for the powers-that-be over at the network to be upset about with this show, and even though the wait may be long, rest assured right now that the second season of “Outlander” is also coming down the pipe.
