‘The Amazing Race Canada 2’ finale spoilers: One last preview; season 3 possibilities
Tonight, we mark the end of the road for “The Amazing Race Canada” season 2, but we have a hard time feeling that this will be the end of the franchise north of the border.
While we are still waiting for a season 3 renewal announcement, it feels all but assured for this show. It was the #1 show of the summer on Canadian TV for the second straight year, and CTV loves the show so much that they even cultivated an aftershow for it. That’s something that viewers in America don’t even have despite a larger number of total viewers.
We’ll keep a lookout on when the renewal will come up, but there is other business tonight as Mickey & Pete, Natalie & Meaghan, and Ryan & Rob all will be competing to win this season, and on the surface, this seems to be a lopsided battle. The two Olympians have dominated the show throughout, and are on pace to tie the show record for the most legs won in a single season. Not only that, but neither Ryan & Rob nor Mickey & Pete have actually won a leg of their own.
If there is someone who could potentially play spoiler to these groups based on what we’ve seen from them so far, it would be Mickey & Pete. They’ve been close to first place for many legs now, and what matters most is being able to win the final leg. They would not be the first team to accomplish this feet; Josh & Brent from season 21 also won the grand prize, despite not winning a single leg beforehand.
We’ll be back later with a full review of the finale at this link, but for now, let us know in the comments who you want to see as the winner for this season. Also, be sure to sign up today to get some further news on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
