‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 trailer: Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, and a shootout

AMC has lifted the veil right now on yet another trailer for “The Walking Dead” season 5, and it is definitely an understatement to say that this one is rather violent. Also, it is pretty awesome, and contains some of the most substantial new footage that you’ve seen to date.

We suppose that the most substantial new footage in here is mostly the simple fact that we now have seen Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) in the same vicinity again, which brings a huge smile to our face. Still, you had to think that this was coming. It has been almost a year since the two characters actually shared any screen time together, and their friendship has long remained one of the show’s most interesting story threads. (There’s a reason why some out there want the two parties to hook up!)

In addition to that, there is an excellent shootout involving Daryl and Rick (Andrew Lincoln), some more zombie-hunting, and basically little reminders of just how awesome many of the other characters are. To the credit of AMC’s marketing department, they really find a way to cram a ton into a tiny amount of space here, and that is with all of the network brand messaging that tends to take up a good percentage of their videos.

Luckily, anyone who loves “The Walking Dead” will not have to wait that much longer for it to come out. The new season premieres on Sunday, October 12, and we’ll have more videos as they come out.
