‘Ray Donovan’ season 2, episode 11 preview: Preparing for the worst

There is a part of the new “Ray Donovan” sneak peek that should feel very familiar to you, if for no other reason than that we have seen something play out very similar to this time and time again. Ray doesn’t exactly tell his wife all of the necessary information, and then she becomes very upset to find out that there is some information that he has opted to keep a secret. As for the reason why, he goes through the typical laundry list of reasons. Sometimes, it is to protect them; otherwise, he knows of what will happen if he is found out.

This time around, he comes clean typically because he expects the worst. He feels like Kate’s upcoming article is going to doom him, and send him directly to prison; therefore, he tries to give her a property in Malibu that she can sell in the event that the family ever needs money … like she really wants this.

There is a certain “Breaking Bad” vibe that we get from a scene like this, mostly because it feels like Ray is trying to buy something in love and affection, which Walter White did on many occasions. He thinks that success is the only thing that matters, and in the case of both men, it may be solely because they don’t have a whole lot else to cling to.

There is only one episode of “Ray Donovan” left after this one for the season, so we’ll have to see where this story leads.
