‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: The next step for Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham
So what do you know about “The Vampire Diaries” going into the season 6 premiere? A number of things, including that Elena will be struggling to move forward with her life, Stefan will have taken some time away from the other characters, and that Alaric will be settling into life again, but this time as a Whitmore professor rather than a teacher in Mystic Falls.
The premiere episode is titled “I’ll Remember,” and we know now that episode 2 has the title of “Yellow Ledbetter.” This is an interesting name for a show with such a young audience, given that this is a reference to a Pearl Jam track, which we’ve enclosed below for reference. The official synopsis should tell you further what you can expect:
“Knowing she needs to come to terms with the loss of Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Elena (Nina Dobrev) turns to Alaric (Matt Davis) to help her move on with her life. Enzo (Michael Malarkey) convinces Caroline (Candice Accola) to join him as he tracks down a lead to get Damon and Bonnie (Kat Graham) back, but Caroline is shocked when they make an unexpected detour and uncover what Stefan (Paul Wesley) has been up to. Meanwhile, Matt (Zach Roerig) worries about Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) who is spending time with Sarah (guest star Gabrielle Walsh), a mysterious girl who has recently arrived in Mystic Falls. Elsewhere, Tripp (guest star Colin Ferguson), leader of the community protection program, makes an interesting confession to Matt about his connection to the town. Lastly, with the Other Side destroyed and gone for good, Damon and Bonnie reluctantly band together to uncover the mystery of where they are and how they are going to get back home.”
We like that Damon and Bonnie will obviously not be sent back to Whitmore / Mystic Falls immediately, since maybe that does give the other characters a chance to bond and try and move forward. That way, there is an even larger sense of drama in the event they return down the road. Who doesn’t love it when the show is good and dramatic?
Is there anything in particular you want to see with this episode, and are you happy that the show seemingly is taking its time resolving the Damon / Bonnie mystery? Let us know with a comment now!
