‘The Bridge’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Demian Bichir, Diane Kruger in ‘Quetzalcoatl’
Next week marks the penultimate episode of “The Bridge,” and there is quite a bit to look forward to. The title is “Quetzalcoatl,” which is an allusion to the ancient deity who was worshiped in what is now Mexico / Central America. The show has named many episodes this season after mythology, and it is nice to have a name now that is actually somewhat native to the region.
If you do want to get some further news right now in terms of what to expect, allow the synopsis via FX to be your guide: It may not be that revealing, but it’s still valuable:
“Marco becomes Fausto’s ticket to freedom. Sonya attempts to interpret Eleanor’s ledger. Frye & Adriana aid the EPPD investigation.”
The biggest mystery for this entire episode is arguably going to be how in the world Marco manages to survive his current predicament … that is, if he does. He is not exactly in a remarkable position, given that he is under attack from almost every direction and from multiple people. Sonya has to find him before she can really do anything else, and this situation links Marco and Fausto in a way that is probably going to be hard for him to swallow.
In the end, we expect a ton of craziness to unfold in this episode, but nothing that necessarily turns the world on its head. Remember here that there is, after all, another hour beyond this one that we are going to see, and then maybe more depending on the season 3 odds.
Is there anything in particular that you want to see on “The Bridge” next week? Share your thoughts with a comment.

After reading the FX release on the ‘Tyrant’ renewal, it’s clear their formula for determining a show’s fate is complex, involving a great deal more than basic overnight cable ratings. I’m a huge fan of the show, and hope it gets a season three. But, how well or poorly ‘The Bridge’ scores in their complex system is a mystery.
