‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 1 video: Mariska Hargitay’s Benson and Baby Noah

With the premiere of “Law & Order: SVU” season 16″ now only a week away, NBC is wasting no time at all when it comes to sharing some of what you can expect.

What is the subject matter of this sneak peek? Well, it is really all about Benson (Mariska Hargitay) trying to adjust to what is an enormous change in her life. After all, she is now a parent after so many years of having a very specific life, and things are changing for her. While Noah may only be her foster son for the time being, we have a hard time thinking that this will stay that way forever.

The one thing that Benson does seem to greatly regret, as per this video, is that she will never be able to fully talk about everything that happened with Ellie Porter. This child has gone through so much at an extremely young age, and the sad truth is that it is far from over right now. There are many more things that we’re going to watch unfold, and that includes a particularly violent showdown at some point.

Once this premiere is over next week, there is still a barrage of other problems that the Benson character is going to have to deal with. For example, she still has to make sure that she finds the time to raise a family, provided that the child stays with her. She has a demanding job, and is also in a position where it is very easy for her to make enemies. She will constantly be a target because of that.
