‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Trophy Wife’ alum now in contention
Are we ever going to learn the female lead for the next “True Detective” season? Despite the fact that there have been rumors about this for months now, we do not quite seem to be any closer to naming an actress for the show than we were then.
At first, it seemed like this was Elisabeth Moss’ part, much in the way that it feels like the likes of Vince Vaugh, Colin Farrell, and Taylor Kitsch have all got their parts now pretty much locked in and ready to go. Then, Rachel McAdams was rumored for the part, and now, The Wrap is reporting that many other actress, including the following, are up for the role.
Oona Chaplin – Best known for playing on “Game of Thrones” Talisa Stark, Robb’s wife who died, along with him and their unborn child, during the Red Wedding.
Malin Akerman – Just starred in “Trophy Wife,” and is also known for “Watchmen.”
Jaimie Alexander – Best known for “Thor: The Dark World.” She also reprised her role on “Agents of SHIELD.”
Jessica Biel – Originally starred on “7th Heaven,” but went to movies for a while before a “New Girl” guest spot.
Rosario Dawson – Of “Sin City” and many other movies.
Brit Marling – A lesser-known actress, who is building a solid movie resume and has “rising star” written all over her.
Kelly Reilly – Star of “Black Box,” which ABC just canceled after only one season.
