‘America’s Got Talent’ finale preview: Looking at AcroArmy, Emily West, Mat Franco’s winner chances
Tonight marks the end of the road for “America’s Got Talent,” and while we expect there to certainly be a bloated show, at the tail end of it, someone is actually going to be declared the winner. We’re here to figure out mostly who that someone is going to be.
When looking at our poll results from last night, we found that it was a pretty close race. Emily West had 31% of the vote, while AcroArmy was in second with 23% and Mat Franco had 19%. These results are not necessarily an accurate depiction of those voting at home, but the fact that Quintavious Johnson was in dead last here may be an indication that he will not be winning.
These results differed pretty significantly from the ones that we received in a poll prior to the broadcast, which showed Emily with a whopping 50% of the vote, following by Franco in second with over 23%. Quintavious was third here.
We do feel like the evidence leans to an Emily win tonight, especially given that she performed last on the night (always an asset for votes), and the quality of her voice. We do feel like the lack of a dominant variety act this year may also help. AcroArmy has been sensational lately, but it took some time to build with that. Meanwhile, we’re not counting on Franco after he was given the worst possible performance slot during the episode. We don’t really get that, given that he is probably the one act out of here we would bank on to be a real Vegas performer a few years down the road.
Even with Emily having the edge going into tonight, we still wouldn’t say this race is as cut-and-dry as last year, when it felt pretty clear Kenichi Ebina had it won.
