Could a celebrity ‘X Factor’ UK happen again? Simon Cowell’s considering it…
Regardless of whether or not you actually want a celebrity version of “The X Factor” UK in the future, there is something that you should be aware of right now: Simon Cowell is taking it under heavy consideration.
Speaking per the Mirror, Cowell (while also going at the BBC, saying he likes competition from “Strictly Come Dancing,” and predicting improvements later this season) noted that despite previous failures with a celebrity version of the show, he is open to giving it another go:
“We tried it one year that whole X Factor celebrity. I mean it was a shambles if I am honest with you. It was a nightmare.
“But I kind of think it would be an idea to try it again maybe it would be a good idea for that Text Santa thing. Or Britain’s Got Talent might be better.”
We actually feel like there could be some humor in watching such a concept, but ultimately, the odds of this happening are astronomically low. The difference between this and a show like “Strictly” is that you can generally teach people to be okay at dancing. It’s a lot harder to convince someone that you can be a good singer. It’s also so much more embarrassing when you fail at it.
In the end, we just don’t feel like you would get many celebrities other than those who are really desperate for fame. Most celebrities who can sing can already go out there, find a label, and get their music in stores. A celebrity “Britain’s Got Talent,” meanwhile, would actually be pretty fun since you could have stars trying to do other things.
