‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: See Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, more in intense cast photo

We don’t say this particularly often, and that may actually make it even more paramount to say it right now: “The Vampire Diaries” really did a ncie job with their latest publicity photo!

This image was first posted by BuzzFeed, and one thing that you have to remember here is that this image is entirely out of context of anything going on in the show. These characters are all split up, and it’s unlikely that they will all be in one place anytime soon looking this glam.

Still, this is a pretty fantastic picture from the standpoint of just setting the mood and the atmosphere for the new episodes ahead. It may be one of the best ones that the show has done, since it doesn’t look like a terrible PhotoShop job.

To be fair, we thought the one from last season was for the most part solid, though we were slightly confused about why Stefan (Paul Wesley) has fire powers and why Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) were each preparing for what looked to be a scene out of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” This new photo suits all of the characters a little bit better.

This new season will premiere on The CW come Thursday, October 2, and we will of course have a whole lot of news before then. Just think of this tiny photo preview as the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully, the rest of the promotional material will keep up this level of awesomeness.
