‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 12 review: who may have died before finale?

Under the Dome -If you were wanting “Under the Dome” to try and deliver some sort of knockout punch in your direction, we certainly had that tonight. The body count may be huge going into the finale, at least depend on how you interpret certain events that took place.

Let’s start with Melanie, given that her story is the most ironic / chilling at the same time. It really was not that long ago that she had returned, and now we’ve seen her come up with a completely new way of leaving the Chester’s Mill vicinity: Giant hole. Is there going to be a deeper meaning here? Probably given that Pauline and Lyle also both could be knocking on death’s door. That’s a high number of casualties for a single episode, even for a show that can be as crazy as this one can at times.

The biggest problem that we feel like we have with the story moving into the finale is that it all feels too scattershot. You have Big Jim finally getting something interesting to do, but for a season and a show that still emphasizes the dome first and foremost, we would love it if there was more consistent storytelling from start to finish.

Now, we’re left in a position where the finale make take the characters out from under the dome for good, or they may just find a temporary solution to keep living there. Either way, we are thoroughly confused, and don’t know if there is enough time in the finale for answers. Grade: C.
