‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 video: See Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario in Halloween special preview

Come Tuesday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, be prepared to see a very different side of “Pretty Little Liars” than anything that we’ve witnessed so far.

Specifically, we are talking about a special that will be by and large a look behind the scenes at what made this ABC Family series such a sensation to begin with. After all, there are a variety of reasons why it has come to be so huge: The show has a great cast led by Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell, a huge central mystery, villains in “A” and company that are easy to identify, and a fantastic social-media strategy. There are few shows that get people tweeting quite like this one.

During this special, you’ll get a chance to learn about some of the stars’ favorite moments shooting the show, hear from some cast members whose characters are no longer with us, and maybe get a quick preview for the upcoming Christmas Special. After all, it is the existence of this holiday event that makes this sort of Halloween Special necessary. The show wants to still have something to give to the fans in October (given that they typically do), so they are having to go in this direction since there’s no time to film another episode and still do just as many in the winter as per usual.

Hopefully, we will have some further previews for this episode when it gets a little bit closer to airing, but this is what we have right now.
