‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 pays homage to ‘Frozen,’ itself in latest poster
Want to take another look at “Once Upon a Time” season 4? ABC is going all-out with this “Frozen” theme, but they are also showing at the same time here that they have no problem also paying homage to their past.
Based on the eye color and the facial features, it feels pretty clear that we are looking at Queen Elsa (Georgina Haig) in this image, and she is also holding up a frozen version of the famed poisoned apple that is sucha big part of the show’s mythology. Are the icicles at the front a little cheesy? Sure, mostly because we have no idea where in the world they are hanging down from.
What longtime fans of the show will most likely realize here is that this poster is very much in some ways a tribute to another bit of “Once Upon a Time” art from seasons past, namely the season 2 poster that featured the Evil Queen Regina in a similar pose. Maybe some see this as the show being incredibly lazy, and trying to just copy off some of their own ideas. Personally, we like it because it’s a reminder that they have not forgotten about the diehard fan. Everyone knows by now that the show desperately wants to promote the “Frozen” arc, and we cannot blame them for that given that there are most likely opportunities to get new fans here.
But, the story of Regina and some of the other major characters allowed the show to first get its start, and we are glad to see that they are also sticking with that.
