‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: All about Richard Webber, Maggie Pierce

Meredith Grey is going to have a number of different issues to work through on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11, and one of them is quite possibly something that she would have never been able to predict years ago: That she could have a half-sister that she never knew about.

The Maggie Pierce story is an interesting one to watch, given by some coincidence she finds herself in the same hospital where Ellen Pompeo’s character works. Things could come to a head here in the second episode (airing on October 2) entitled “Puzzle Without a Piece,” at least per the synopsis shared recently by SpoilerTV:

“Maggie tries to make a good impression but finds herself in unfortunate situations; Richard keeps hiding his secret.”

To us, there is little doubt that this is an episode that has our full interest. These are all characters who bring a lot to the table, and have a lot of history together that needs to be explored. This revelation could change the way Meredith and Richard work with each other, let alone how Meredith feels about the people who are close to her.

In our head, the obviously ideal situation would be if Meredith finds a way to rely on Maggie as someone new in her life. She will never be her “person” in the way that Cristina was, but given all the drama that is going on with Derek right now, she could use a new shoulder to lean on. We want to think that this could be Amelia, but she will most likely have a predisposition to her own brother first and foremost. Can you blame her?
