‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Lea Michele will officially perform ‘Frozen’s’ ‘Let It Go’
In a post on her official Twitter account (which you can see below), series star Lea Michele confirmed that she will be performing the ballad “Let It Go.” This song won the Academy Award earlier this year, and it also has a connection to the show already. Idina Menzel performed the song as Elsa in the movie, and Menzel is a personal hero of Lea’s who also guest-starred for many episodes in the first and third season as Shelby Corcoran, her biological mother.
There’s also another funny connection between the song and the show. Demi Lovato also recorded a version of “Let It Go” that played at the end of the movie, and Demi happened to guest star for a few episodes last season as Dani. (Yeah, we’re still trying to figure out what the purpose of her guest appearance really was, given that it never actually went anywhere and her relationship with Santana ended quietly.)
The sixth season of “Glee” is ultimately still many months ahead. Despite the show already filming, the earliest we could see it premiering is November, and even that is a stretch. It may all ultimately depend on what the series decides to do with its low-rated “Utopia,” which has struggled to get off of the ground. We’ll have to wait and see.
