Gary Busey wins ‘Celebrity Big Brother,’ all is right with the world again

Who saw this one coming? The answer is just about “everyone.” While Gary Busey may have a hard time winning reality shows that require a certain measure of cognitive ability, there is no questioning that the man is a superstar when it comes to wacky entertainment. There are acronyms, weird stories, and of course mechanical dogs (go search for it) that will forever be stamped into our memory.

Today, the glorious news finally was made official that Gary Busey was named the champion of “Celebrity Big Brother,” and we question the sanity of anyone who wanted to see the man lose. Gary is entertaining. Beyond entertaining, even. He’s probably one of the craziest reality TV personalities out there, and he becomes the first American to ever win the show.

So what allowed Busey to come out on top here? The major thing here is sympathy, given that he was often mocked and bullied in the house. No matter who you are, everyone relates on a certain level to someone having a hard time. The biggest problem Gary runs into sometimes is feeling like he is being victimized, but this was a case when he really was.

Busey has done a number of reality TV shows here in North America, but the one you will probably remember the best is “The Celebrity Apprentice.” After all, his turn on that show was supremely memorable both times that he was on it … and we have a hard time thinking that he is going to stop the reality appearances now that he has won one. (To think, this man has an Academy Award nomination!)
