ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Tony Goldwyn explains Fitz’s new reality

There is quite a bit of interesting stuff to come on “Scandal” season 4, and for President Fitzgerald Grant, he has to deal with a heartbreaking situation. His son (regardless of whether or not was his biological kid) is gone, and Olivia Pope has disappeared to destinations unknown. He wants to make things better as the President and to make things better for his wife Mellie, but is any of that even possible now? He is going to have to figure it out.

Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, Tony Goldwyn said the following when it comes to some of what you can expect from his story moving forward, which looks to be more than a little bit eventful:

“It’s a huge struggle … And with the absence of Olivia, emotionally, Fitz is trying to adjust to this new reality. … It’s not about moving forward on their marriage; it’s about getting through today. It kind of goes into territory that’s deeper and different and unexpected for Scandal.”

We are interested to see if things can actually stabilize for Fitz for a while on the show, mostly because this is something that could be very new for the show. After all, just think about how many times this has actually happened over the years! Plus, you know in the end that things will find a way to turn completely insane again. That seems to be par for the course here more often than not.
