‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: More premiere photos of Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T

Just in case you have not seen enough preview footage of the “Law & Order: SVU” season 16 premiere (can there ever be enough?) just yet, we come bearing further gifts today: New images that showcase some of the episode’s action and drama.

These images were all posted by showrunner Warren Leight over on his Twitter page, and are part of his frequent sharing of information on upcoming episodes. We also know from his account that the show has polished up their second episode of the season on October 1, which features Teri Polo of “The Fosters” in a guest-starring role.

The story of the premiere a week before contains a number of interesting stories, including Amaro having to come to terms with a difficult family situation and Benson trying to balance some major changes in her own life. Unfortunately for her, trouble is going to come quickly with protecting baby Noah, which will probably make for the portion of the episode where you struggle to catch your breath.

Just one other thing we’ll add here is that if you are ever bored or just extremely curious, go back and look at some of the promotional photos from early seasons of the show. We were feeling nostalgic, and it is remarkable how much everything from the fashion to the overall aesthetic of the times have changed over the last decade and a half. Sometimes, you have a hard time really identifying a time period until you are three decades out. (We’re still trying to label the nineties.)
