‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Kyle MacLachlan to play ‘The Doctor’
Are Daleks and a Sonic Screwdriver coming to “Agents of SHIELD” season 2? Well, we wouldn’t say that … but there is going to be a character known only as “The Doctor,” and they will be played by none other than “Twin Peaks” alum Kyle MacLachlan.
This appearance from the actor will be the second of the season, and is entitled “Heavy is the Head,” and if you want to get some further news when it comes to what to expect from this hour, just take a look at the attached synopsis:
“Hunted and running out of solutions, Coulson puts his team right in the line of fire in the hopes of saving them all. But with General Talbot, Hydra and Creel all on the attack, can they possibly survive? Meanwhile, a mysterious Doctor (Kyle MacLachlan) harbors some dangerous secrets that could destroy one of our core team members.”
This will be the first of potentially many appearances for MacLachlan, who has shown over the years that he really can do anything. He’s tackled more mysterious roles over the years, but has also made you laugh on “How I Met Your Mother,” and shown off a romantic side at times on “Sex and the City.” We’re somewhat surprised that he has not had a regular role in a while, but he is getting to appear on a number of other great shows.
We’re surprised honestly that ABC released the synopsis for this episode so early, given that they have tried so hard to keep “Agents of SHIELD” under such a heavy veil of secrecy for the most part.
