‘Gotham’ spoilers: Fox series already looking to cast Harvey Dent

To date, we have reserved most of our stories about “Gotham” for some of our TV Quick Hits columns, if for no other reason than that the show hasn’t even come out yet, and it is therefore hard to speculate on a larger scale.

However, this news to us is so huge that we really cannot pass up talking about it right now: The show is in the process of casting Harvey Dent! Per a new report from E! News, the show is looking for a man in his late twenties to take on the recurring part.

Obviously, the origin story of this character dictates that he won’t be on his way to becoming Two-Face for a rather long time, so we will probably instead get a chance to just see how the man was long before coming down that dark, terrible road. The challenge for this series is going to mostly come in making sure you don’t just constantly make it all about constant winks and nods to the Batman origins, since the temptation to do that is almost certainly going to be there. The only thing that may stop it with some of the villains is that it’s hard to cast a ton of them, given how far in the past this particular story is set.
