‘The X Factor’ UK review: Robert Pattinson’s sister Lizzy, Raign, Jake Quickenden audition
Today marked the last edition of “The X Factor” UK in the auditions rooms, and this marked a real shot for these contestants to prove that this season has good singers. We once again felt like there was talent in here, but is it really good enough to win the competition? The biggest problem we have right now is that there are no genuine superstars in the mix yet … maybe this will change after we hear them in the next round.
Take a look at some of the positive highlights from the show below.
Kerrianne Covell – She may lose her job just by auditioning, which isn’t really a good PR move for the shop she works at … especially since she is pretty good. She’s probably not strong enough to win, but she could be live-show material. Simon calling her boss was pretty hilarious at the end.
Geoff Mull – We’ll be honest: We thought he was going to be a joke act with his song choice and his look. That’s why we enjoy people like him who try out, and manage to blow us away.
Lauren Lovejoy – She tells all the judges that they look like animals. She would definitely be one of those “quirky acts” if she makes it far enough.
Stevie Tennet – Very good singer for his age, and he doesn’t sound like one of those guys whose voice will fall apart when he turns 18.
Raign – She’s totally making it to the live shows. She’s not exactly good, but she’s incredibly abrasive and the show can make her into the villain. Expect many complaints about Raign and her attitude in the weeks ahead.
Janet Grogan – Unlike Raign, here is someone who is a very good singer, but also seems like a sweet person. She could actually have a chance to win in the live shows, whereas someone with a tough personality has zero shot.
Emily Middlemass – It’s like a cross between Cher Lloyd and Janet Devlin! So far, the best Irish performer on the show this season.
Lizzy Pattinson – Yes, Robert Pattinson’s sister gave her big audition, and was humble even though it felt like Simon Cowell was baiting her into saying that she had some sort of famous connection.
Michael Rice – A very young singer, and he’s the one we’re worried about when it comes to his voice changing down the road.
Kayleigh Manners – Her voice is a little too soft, but her tone is gorgeous. She’s got a unique look, a cool story growing up in a rough part of town, and a ton of potential to eventually be great.
Jake Quickenden – A bit of a strange song choice for Jake, since we know that the guy can really sing. He is one of those guys who could go either way in this competition moving forward.
