ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Positives for Tony Goldwyn’s Fitz moving forward

Ready for some big news on “Scandal“? Well, let’s just say that when the show comes back on the air, you may see something that at one point probably did not even seem that possible: Fitz actually being a great President for a change!

Per Entertainment Weekly, you are going to see Tony Goldwyn’s character in quite a different place when the show picks back up with the fourth season in September, and that will include him getting things done in office, and starting to turn around the ship. How does this really happen? We still have no clue, given the chaos that erupted in his life. He has to be mourning still his dead son, his shattered relationship with his wife Mellie, and the fact that Olivia Pope, the onetime great love of his life, is now somewhere with another man.

The truth about “Scandal,” though, is that you have to know that nothing is every going to stay in such a happy place for a long period of time. Eventually, there is going to be some trouble that creeps its way onto the show and into Fitz’s life, and at that point, Kerry Washington’s character may be needed in order to turn around the ship in the right direction.

The premiere will take place at least a reasonable amount of time removed from the events in the finale, and there are some other characters who may be treading water. In particular, Abby is a big one to watch.
