‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 9 preview: Virginia, Bill, and guilt over Libby

Slowly and surely on “Masters of Sex” season 2, we feel like we are nearing what we would refer to as the tipping point for all of these characters. Eventually, we are going to see Bill Masters choose between Virginia Johnson and his wife Libby, and that moment may be coming up very soon.

In the sneak peek video below, you can already see Virginia suffering a pretty serious morality crisis when it comes to just what she has done. She feels incredibly guilty for being the other woman in this affair, and knowing that her actions could cause the marriage to end. She knows that Libby loves her husband, and in addition to that, she and Libby have actually become close over time.

The hard part of this to swallow is that Virginia is not a stupid person by any means, and she obviously had to know that these sort of indiscretions with Bill were going to end up eventually hurting her. So why start caring right now? It just feels a little suspect, but we also don’t have that big of a problem with it being suspect. These characters are supposed to be real people, and one of the characteristics of being a real person is a high capacity for making mistakes and having to deal with them later. Obviously, this is something that Virginia will have to process for her entire life moving forward.
