‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: Mamie Gummer snags latest guest role
“Elementary” is having no problem cluing in on some great guest stars, and the latest example right now comes in the form of Mamie Gummer.
Per E! News, the former “Emily Owens MD” and “The Good Wife” actress (also known for being Meryl Streep’s daughter) will guest-star on the third season of the CBS drama as Margaret Bray, a wealthy New York heiress who finds herself working in a precarious position with Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). A map containing some of her family’s secrets is discovered, and with its deadly implications, she may be relied on as a valuable source of information.
There is a part of this that does serious feel like the plot of a “National Treasure” movie, where you have some criminals out there trying to uncover valuable secrets to a map. Then again, we really don’t mind this, and we would actually love it in the event that Nicolas Cage were to guest star and start to scream random things at people.
“Elementary” is currently in a little bit of a holding pattern. We know that it will officially come on the air in October, but it is being delayed thanks to CBS pushing more NFL football down our throats Thursday night. Let’s just put it in perspective now that you have football three nights a week, and that is going to make it that much harder for new, scripted content to have a home. We could rant further about that, but this is probably not the place.
